Catholic Charities of Chicago has been providing internships to social workers and other licensed counselors for decades. Our 98-year history providing competent services for individuals, families, the young and the elderly is recognized by the Council On Accreditation (COA) as well as by other national organizations. Understanding people and their needs is just part of the work of the many Catholic Charities professionals providing services to over 1 million people annually in Cook and Lake Counties.
Catholic Charities provides a learning environment where individuals can observe real world examples of concepts previously studied only in the classroom in order to increase their knowledge and competence within a social service environment. Our core values of Respect, Compassion, Caring and Stewardship engage our employees from diverse talents, backgrounds and experiences who speak multiple languages.
Our Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors (LCPC) and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) provide field instruction for student interns in the areas of: Community Counseling, Drug/Alcohol Addiction Prevention, Senior Services, Maternity and Adoption services, Shelter Care and other programs.
