LAKE COUNTY
The Lake County Youth Mentorship Program pairs youth ages 9-12 from Waukegan with volunteer mentors who can serve as positive role models, encourage good decision-making and be a friend during times of need. Youth who participate in the program will learn how to set goals, process difficult emotions, improve communication skills, develop new hobbies and interests, and improve self-confidence. Mentors must be at least 21 years old and willing to meet with their mentee for 2 hours each week for at least 1 year. Potential volunteers and interested youth are encouraged to contact program staff for eligibility information.
